Ajit is a war veteran of Kargil with a considerably long innings in the infantry tucked under his belt. After thirteen years of a rough-tough life in the bunkers - almost always coupled with a consistent exposure to the taste of the country’s various flavours - when he did decide to hang-up his fatigues and exchange the weapon for a backpack it was essentially to return to savoring the same culture, the same people, the same food and the same flavours that he was already hooked to by now...but this time at his own pace. This is his way of sharing the life he enjoys. Trained at the prestigious Defence Institute of Psychological Research on techniques of Personality assessment and Group Development he also
handles the outbound learning programmes at The Nomads. With his experience comes a clear perspective on the importance of a good, reliable team for any organization.

Even tent pegs cannot keep this lady tied down long enough. A complete and absolute extrovert Aisshwarya just loves the outdoors. With an enviable experience with kids - having been a part of the teaching profession for 15 years – she is herself a keen learner, up and ready to experiment with new concepts even before you are halfway through spelling the word. She is an exponent of a variety of ancient Indian spiritual practices like Yoga, Pranayam and Pranic healing; also a Reiki Master creative dancing is what keeps her on her toes these days. It might be a good idea to catch her attention when she stops to take a breather.

With more than 12 years of corporate experience at various levels including senior management, this MBA from a premier institute has been an avid traveller and explorer having covered practically inch by inch of the whole Indian terrain. A corporate explorer caught in a back packers body is how Rakesh likes to describe himself. A trainer by passion, he claims to know a fair bit of the stuff about corporate teams (and the demons that plague them!) , an adventurer by choice and a firm believer in ‘India’s diversity and destiny’, he has just disposed off his tie- collection!

A Freelance researcher/writer/film-maker/photographer, Deepali’s work in the social development sector over the past decade has taken her to the rural interiors all
across the country while documenting social change and developing an archive of alternative images in different media and on various issues. She is the author of the book ‘Drugs Production and Trafficking in Afghanistan,’ and has an M.Phil. and Ph.D. on Tajikistan and Afghanistan from the Central Asian Studies Division at Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi. While she calls Bangalore her home, home really is anywhere she can dig her teeth into a nice hot spicy meal. She’s yet to figure out whether she bit the travel bug or was bitten by the travel bug! You would normally catch her juggling her overnight bag and a camera.

For a dash of nirvana and lots of maya; for that rush of adrenalin and the sedation of the senses; for a flavour of the unknown and a taste of the known; for the like minded and the unlike minded…and that is how the idea of an “us” was born. We are a bunch of “us” with nothing in common except the need to lead an unhurried life. To put the brakes on and play in slow mo the scenes that whiz past from the side of your window, or the back of a van, the window of a train, the port of a ship…over the wing of an aircraft. Remember those lush mustard fields that are increasingly becoming a yellow blurry memory or the snow-capped peaks that slipped out of sight under the belly of the flight; and do you remember the wish that you made just then…IF I could just get off here and spend a few days…a week…a few weeks maybe…or a month? Well we do just that, (but NOT a lifetime…we don't do that). Just drop a penny (a rupee would do) in the nomads wishing well and we make all those wishes made in those innocuous moments come true. And the minute you start craving for humanity and the clutter of city life (we call them withdrawal symptoms!) we'll be there to your rescue placing you right back where we snatched you from. We at the Nomads are a group of professionals from diverse backgrounds, be it the grounds of the defence services, the boardrooms of the corporate world or the book walls of academia. The Nomads aims at planning holidays, vacations or trips that, though offbeat, are tailor-made for each client almost exclusively. So if it's the next Motorcycle Diaries that you are looking to script then its here that we work out the negotiation of the terrain for you. From river rafting to trekking, cycling to hiking, tapping into nooks and corners for the essence of a culture and its people, photography tours or wildlife safaris (or any safaris), team building to outbound training, camping and the outdoors for the very young and the really old (and all the age groups in the middle); and finally learning. Learning…to have fun, learning about people, learning to live with everyone, learning to build…tents and teams, learning to survive and more than anything learning to enjoy…life. At 'The Nomads' we script it for you.
